The Doctoral Candidate will be a member of the Soft Matter and Biological Physics (SMB) unit, headed by Liesbeth Janssen. This is a vibrant and collaborative research unit that consists of six independent research group. It is embedded in the Department of Applied Physics and Science Education, but also has close collaborative ties with the TUE's Chemistry and Biomedical Engineering departments, as well as the multidisciplinary ICMS. All SMB members have direct access to a state-of-the-art departmental computing cluster and a rich variety of regular departmental and cross-departmental (Overbeek, ICMS) colloquia. Doctoral Candidates also have free access to TUE's large portfolio of personal development trainings.
