About NANOTEC-CNR

The National Research Council (CNR) is the largest public research institution in Italy, the only one under the Research Ministry performing multidisciplinary activities. It comprises more than 8,000 employees, of whom more than half are researchers and technologists. The Institute of Nanotechnology gathers scientists and students from the disciplines of physics, chemistry, engineering, materials science, as well as biology and medicine. To promote knowledge and innovation in science and technology, CNR-NANOTEC develops cutting-edge experimental techniques and modeling tools, developed within the Institute in close collaboration with academic, institutional and industrial partners. The Institute was founded in 2015 and now host about 200 people.

The CNR team has access to a cluster composed of Intel CPUs and several NVIDIA GPUs. For the experimental investigation, the team has full access to the resources of the Optical Trapping and Active Matter Lab in the Department of Physics at the University “La Sapienza” of Rome (DPUSR). In addition to local computational resources, we plan to exploit the High-Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure funded by the national recovery and resilience plan (NRRP).
