About Max-Planck Institute for Dynamics and Self-Organization
The Max Planck Society comprises 84 institutes nationwide with over 24000 employees. It participates in CAFE-BIO through the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics and Self-Organization in Göttingen (MPI-DS), Germany, in particular its Department of Living Matter Physics and the Max Planck Research Group Theory of Biological Fluids. The participating groups have theoretical foci in different areas of biological and non-biological soft matter and non-equilibrium statistical physics, with specific expertises in multicellular systems, non-reciprocal interactions and biomolecular condensates, including extensive experimental collaborations. MPI-DS hosts a diverse international community of students, PhD students, postdocs and senior scientists and is tightly integrated into the Göttingen campus.
MPI-DS hosts high-performance CPU and GPU computing clusters. Major seminar and colloquium series with renowned speakers are held in a hybrid format and can be attended across the DN. PhD students will benefit from local junior scientist networks, state-of-the-art office and computer equipment, and licenses for proprietary software packages provided by the Max Planck Digital library.
